Busy, busy, busy first week back!

Welcome back everyone.  We have had such a busy week.  Monday began wishing everyone a Happy New Year and discussing using 2019 instead of 2018.  Everyone shared the exciting things that happened over the holidays and we heard the song Auld Lang Syne – which I believe many of you were singing on Hogmanay.  We began to think about what we would like to achieve this year.

Mr Quigley introduced our third rule, Safe, in our whole school assembly.  We combined our class Dojos and had a PJ party on Wednesday – lots of popcorn and chocolate was consumed!

We have discussed our knowledge of Robert Burns and have decided what we would like to find out over the next few weeks and we have Lilian Ross from Feis Rois coming in on Tuesday to teach us some Scots songs written by Robert Burns – watch this space.  We read Rabbies’s Rhymes , Robert Burns for Wee Folk and The Gruffalo in Scots and learnt that a tod is a fox and scran is food!

It was a chilly morning on Wednesday and we discovered that our snack could slide across our wooden table.  There must have been lots of broken crisps has we had more fun making them slide than eating them!

Finally a HUGE thank you to everyone for the wonderful Christmas presents I received.  It was very kind of you all to think about me at such a busy time of year and myself and Mr MacQueen enjoyed munching on the sweet treats and look forward to using the vouchers soon.

Happy New Year

To celebrate the new year everyone has combined all their Dojos and have voted for a PJ party!

On Wednesday 9th January at 10.45am we are going to celebrate the New Year by watching a DVD and nibble on some popcorn.  PJs are not compulsory but can be taken to school (we will change into them after break) for those who wish to wear them.

DVDs can be taken in (with parental permission), only those with the U symbol as they are deemed suitable for our age group, will be watched.
